Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur is a large area covering a number of major streets of the city. It covers the area of Jalan Pudu, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Imbi and Jalan Tun Razak. Bukit Bintang and the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) are both located in this Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle is also synonymous as Kuala Lumpur’s main shopping and nightlife district. There are several office towers and five-star hotels located inside the Golden Triangle.

How to Get There

By Car

The Golden Triangle will take around twelve minutes of driving from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, and via Jalan Damansara, the distance is only five kilometres away.

By Train

The Golden Triangle is easily access using KL Monorail. The service passes directly through the district, along Jalan Sultan Ismail. LRT is also available if KLCC is the destination. It is easily change between LRT and Monorail services, at Dang Wangi LRT and Bukit Nanas Monorail stations.

By Bus

Most of Rapid KL busses go into the Golden Triangle area. Do keep in mind that RapidKL busses have their own lines, and each goes to different end points. Make sure to board the correct bus even though most still have stops somewhere in the Golden Triangle area. Other than that, there is a free bus service, GO-KL, that goes around the Central Business District, which also includes the Golden Triangle.

Petronas Twin Towers

Locally known as KLCC, this is definitely most famous, and iconic building in Malaysia. It was built in the year 1993 and finished three years after. Here, visitors can enjoy the view of these magnificent towers, once were the tallest in Asia. The towers are built for office purposes but there is a smaller building at the base on the towers, a shopping mall that goes with the name of Suria KLCC. Suria KLCC is the place to go if you are looking for luxurious and branded items in Kuala Lumpur. Among its tenants are Isetan, a Japanese high-end department store, and also Kinokuniya, solely available in Suria KLCC. There is also Petrosains, an exhibit of science and technology, mainly focusing on the oil and gas industry. This educational park is sponsored by Petronas and mainly aimed for children, though adults can still enjoy and learn many things in this exhibition. KLCC is located on the northern part of the Golden Triangle and accessible via KLCC Station LRT.

KL Tower

Another tall building in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and it was completed a year before the Petronas Twin Tower. Built as a communication tower, this is the seventh tallest building in the world. Visitors may enjoy the view of Kuala Lumpur from the highest point available to public. Apart from that, there is a revolving restaurant, the Atmosphere 360, located in the second floor of the Tower head. It will take more than an hour to do a full circle and you won’t feel the restaurant moving though you will notice the change in scenery after a few minutes. The restaurant opens daily from 11.30am and buffet menu changes every week but they will always have western, and local favourites.

A luxury hotel located just outside the Golden Triangle and in the area of KL Sentral, this is the place to stay. It has received very impressive reviews from previous patrons mainly due to its spacious and very clean room. The hotel is also connected to the KL Sentral and the shopping mall. Nu Sentral, beside it, making it easier for its patrons to go anywhere in Kuala Lumpur. The starting price is about RM440+ a night and it's worth every cent, based on the reviews of previous customers.
